Each atoll offers something different to the next and depending on the time of year you travel, you may find yourself gliding with manta rays, bobbing along with turtles or discovering the deep blue along side a whale shark or two. 

The kids can spend their days hunting for hermit crabs, or snorkelling the colourful reefs, while budding junior chefs can take a pizza or sushi making class. Some might prefer riding a bicycle around the sandy pathways in search of a friendly island gecko.

What is totally unexpected here though is that a number of the activities offered for families and children are wait for it....educational! No need to feel guilty about "dumping" the kids off at kids club or as our daughter lovingly calls them "club kids"! Where else in the world will you find a kids program that offers a coral planting session with the onsite Marine Biologist or an Island Survival course where they learn what's safe to touch and not, on a deserted island! Or perhaps they'd prefer being a Pirate for the day and heading out on board a traditional Dhoni in search for lost treasure below the turquoise seas.
